What are Novathreads?
They are hypodermic needles preloaded with a PDO Absorbable Suture.
What is a PDO Absorbable Sutre?
It’s a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polydioxanone. PDO sutures are used to perform cardiothoracic surgery (such as open-heart surgery). It’s one of the safest materials to be implanted in the body. Your skin fully absorbs it within 4 to 6 months & won’t leave you with any scar tissue.
How does it work?
It’s amazingly simple, actually! In medical terms “Selective Inflammatory Response,” it is the principle behind a lot of the aesthetic procedures (such as Fractional Laser, Chemical Peels, and Microneedling). Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting Novathreads we make it ‘heal’ itself by creating new collagen, naturally!
Your skin gently reacts to the inserted threads
Yes, PDO is fully absorbable, but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t react to it. During the 4 to 6 months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin is also repairing itself around it. It’s “controlled healing” happening underneath the skin!
No cuts or incisions – purely injections!
The NovaThreads are needles that are pre-loaded with a PDO thread. Simply insert the whole needle in the interstitial tissue at the subdermal level, parallel to the surface of the skin, & pull the needle out.
Botox / Xeomin / Dysport (Nueromodulators)
Neuromodulators are a purified protein that blocks receptors at nerve endings, preventing the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, thereby preventing muscle contraction. Neuromodulators are used to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles of the face into which it is injected and to prevent future wrinkles.
It takes from 4-7 days to see optimum results for Neuromodulators. You may require additional units at a subsequent follow-up visit within two weeks to complete the injection series to obtain the goals we have discussed. 10-20 units per area are only an average and are by no means the standard. Males usually require more than females. People with stronger muscles may require more. Neuromodulators will not fill any wrinkles/lines; they relax and smooth the moving lines, not stationary wrinkles. The results from a Neuromodulators can last anywhere from 6 weeks to 4 months or more. The duration will vary from patient to patient.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Most of these fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a gel-like substance that absorbs water and naturally occurs in our connective tissue. When injected into the dermis, hyaluronic acid fills in lines and restores volume to the lips, cheeks, and under the eyes. Each filler has unique characteristics suitable for different facial areas. For example, Juvederm Voluma is excellent for cheek augmentation and lasts up to two years, while Belotero and Restylane Silk are thinner fillers ideal for lines around the lips and under-eye hollows.
Radiesse: A Unique Filler
Radiesse, a calcium-based filler, not only provides volume but also stimulates collagen production.
Usage and Longevity
Typically, fillers are provided in a 1 cc syringe, but depending on the treatment area, more than one syringe might be necessary. Radiesse, available in a 1.5 cc syringe, is particularly effective for enhancing cheeks and smile lines. Most fillers last up to one year, although they may degrade sooner in areas with more movement, such as the lips.
